Years ago, one of the larger companies I worked for we were developing a product that was ground breaking. We wanted more time to develop, but sales was getting antsy so they pushed it out. My team created T-Shirts with the Product name and a picture of us on the front. On the back it said, "We'll fix it in 2.0"
Takes big MS usually 3 versions to get it right if at all. Some companies can do it in two. Others can never do it. I remember another BIG software company where I would go to their demos and the servers would crash with one user on the systems, multiple times. They said everything was seamless and integrated. It was far from it and a well know product too. If it was seamless, why are you logging in multiple times to different components? Ahh, they are actually non-integrated products you think are integrated. Got it.
If you are outside of IT, your expectations are everything works like an iPhone. If everything had iPhone development budgets, I guess it could, but oh the dilution!
