"I am too damn old to fight windmills."
I'm not. Regardless, we're not fighting imaginary windmills. By choosing a non-China partner, we're choosing not to lose our intellectual property (Leronlimab) without legal recourse. I agree 100% American BP's have a horrible track record of off-shoring and abusing their patients and any number of other crimes. The difference is - and it' huge - an American BP can be sued. They will pay billions in lawsuits if they lose, e.g., as Pfizer did about 12 years go.
But China? Will anyone bring the CCP to court if they manufacture LL at a huge discount and put Cytodyn out of business? We have little to no legal recourse in a communist dictatorship. And what happens if China invades Taiwan - will never happen, I know - but if it did happen, would we (and much of the world) likely boycott many/all Chinese products for years? What happens to CYDY SP if the world is boycotting our China-based partner?
Bottom line, we've seen too much, come too far, and waited too long to risk everything by choosing a partner in a lawless regime. I hate BP's as much as anyone, but we have little to no legal recourse with CCP BP's.
