Re: junebug #289

Junebug, as they say in the real estate business: location, location, location.

Areas of the country that are logging friendly will often be more receptive to the idea, but other areas where logging is considered the root of all evil by environmental groups, will stop such activities at all cost.

I do believe deadhead logging can be done in the United States, but one needs to be selective, and one would need to find a location where large numbers of trees are found in a relatively small area.   One can find waterways with sunken trees throughout the United States, but dealing with environmentalists is the problem.

In the State of Washington, after Saint Helen blow, environmentalists felt that deadhead logging might prevent fish and other acquadic life from returning.  However, the lakes rivers and streams were already dead, and restocking was done on most of these waterways anyway.  So one must ask, what is natural and what isn't?
