I think this is their (hopefully final) smackdown of CytoDyn following all of the issues with NP, and the angry letters, calls, etc. they received from individuals, etc. This is their final "F U".
There were some things that i liked about NP (his drive - seemed on a mission), but the thing that always bothered me a lot was his brash, fighting tendencies, and his endless stream of pie in the sky claims. They're exciting, but never seemed totally appropriate. The whole renegade thing may work at a startup whose success is just marketing based, but for a product that involves human trials and an incredibly bureaucratic risk averse organization (FDA), it is the recipe for a disaster - and we're eating the disaster cake right now.
Again, my buddy who built 2 companies in the healthcare space told me that "you need to swallow your pride with regulators, and just get the win from a business standpoint, even if you have to lose with your pride". I pray we're solving the issues - because if we don't get off the FDA's #$%& list, no serious investor will touch the company.
My gut is that this is why we have no partnership offers yet - no real organization is going to align with a company who is battling the FDA.
