I feel a sense of relief after the call, I guess I was thinking things might be far worse. The pause on the brazil covid is just because we have not done an IV trial before and a couple deaths that could be due to anything is just being super safe. I do feel the covid train left the station and we missed it. the enrollment seems low and not likely to pick up. The DSMC review will likely result in a proceed as designed and nothing more.
The pause for the HIV also is just a play it safe move - re checking the safeyt data by a third party is smart given how many trial protocals are built off the safety data from the combo trial. The result will be an iron clad safety status going forward. I did not think they would submit the final BLA section this quarter due to the data transfer delay anyway. I can wait 8-12 weeks.
I was upset however in that all future trials are going to be based on getting some academic partner to do them. it does raise a bit of credibility but these studies take time and i doubt we will get PRs of these anytime soon. The good thing is that the raising of dilutive funds to go it alone is over.
The multiple NDA talk is the best news, I look forward to the announcement that we got one or more partnership. The release of the NASH data will also be welcome.
I like the new CC format and that it will be a quarterly update, no more holding carrots in front of us.
