Probably not. For those that subscribe to the manipulation theory as there does exist more on the otc boards. Someone might jave seen the lower than usual volume, put a big bid in, catch a couple shorts who are just as skittish as retail investors. They hurry and try to cover at higher prices while the bidder upper sells into their fear. Same concept except shorters can jave infinite losses vs investors who only lose what you put in.
I read a story on a dude that shorted a biotech, had a morning meeting and didn't see a big buy from some deep pocketed investors. Had to start a crowd funding page to pay back. Good lesson learned.
