yes i've also been impressed with their savviness. i do think they are proceeding hard on this tech agriculture because they had rural networks in place already from prior sales work and agriculture/rural poverty work aligned strongly with current party priorities.

this bloomberg article (about H&M) was interesting to me in the way it laid out things businesses needed to do in China--sponsor government events, be seen participating in government priorities like poverty alleviation. and there was another article i read recently...i forget where...that talked about the party funding/grants that was increasingly going towards working on uplifting rural areas
