The news report does a good job IMO being circumspect about Incell. Dr Patterson dismisses the question asking why he isn't running clinical trial for the indication, saying that in a pandemic there's no time to run trials, but you could say that about any serious illness. All patients that are suffering need help now but rigorous scientific verification still needs to be done.
I did Dr Patterson's tests after he told me it may help CFS but my results didn't meet the criteria for treatment. The testing cost around $600, which wasn't a burden for me but it could be for many folks. And the treatment is very likely not going to be covered by insurance. Plus we all know that maraviroc has side effects.
My concern is Dr Patterson's evangelical zeal for his treatment protocol may mean that prospective patients don't fully understand the health and financial risks posed by a treatment that hasn't been evaluated in a controlled setting.
