great documentary on Carl Ichan (HBO). love him or hate him, the guy has made over a $ trillion for shareholders over the years in increased value at his company investments (that's with a T).
Got me thinking about CytoDyn. Ichan basically said he's not a genius, but that he makes money by finding boards and management that are not executing and maximizing the value from the company's product - and he says it's the main reason that companies fail. Of course now, the mention of Ichan's name as an investor makes any stock skyrocket.
I liked NP as a person and i think his heart was in the right place, but i think it's clear he wasn't maximizing value of our great product. All we need is the right person to get behind this product - and they could easily broker a deal with big pharma (where market caps are at all-time highs and they're dying for new drugs for their pipelines) - or at least inspire more confidence in the investor community.
I was hoping Welch could be that guy - but maybe he won't take that kind of role. Maybe it's our new soon to be announced CEO?
Bottom line: I'm hopeful we find someone who can really get behind our drug in a meaningful way. The right person could completely turn things around, and quickly.
