Putin may have just pulled this recent crap simply due to gaining USA promise not to stop their oil pipeline. Under no terms including any aggression or war with the USA or Europe should any US president ever agree to never interfering with that pipe line. That is a separate issue that Putin is trying to play over sleepy Joe. I wouldn't be surprised just how much blackmail the USA & Russia are into.
