Walmart in my area is similar, but it may be they're selling more on the side through online ordering and the new pick up service. They're stocked in the back end, they're just not wasting the time and resources to restock shelves, imo.

Go look in store and find an item out of stock, then look online for the same store and I'd bet it shows it's in stock with free curb side pick up.
