I agree with you in regards to being cautious about this unofficial information as long as it is not confirmed by the company via PR. It sounds good and if confirmed this would be a great new intonation to receive.
What I do not agree with that you wrote is that the company has not done anything in the last more than 7 months. Just because they have not published any PRs does not mean that they have not done anything in these months.
In the 20 months after Joe took over the CEO position of GNBT he remained similarly silent, but had done a lot to restructure the company and finally come out with news that were able to initially drive the pps significantly up.
I don't see any reason why this could not happen again.
