I still do not understand your logic. What do NASH results, if they were good, have to do with firing NP right now, with no one already in mind to steer the ship as CEO in the wake of his immediate and allegedly unforeseen termination?

If there was some deal in the works, wouldn't you want your new CEO to be a part of those discussions? I would certainly think so. Who's running this show now? Who is making the major decisions?
