I briefly looked and could not find where IH describes the purpose of the thumbs up and thumbs down. I would think the most logical answer is if you agree or disagree. Hence, I could have given your previous post a thumbs down, but I tend to limit them and prefer to offer a correction instead.
I'm guessing there are the extremes of some who never give a thumbs down who have the belief to say nothing if you have nothing nice to say to the opposite extreme of thumbs downing everything based on the poster.
Not sure where this is going, but there are extreme believers and some doubters here, so for sure disagreements will abound and that should be OK.
Let me know if anyone has a different view of the purpose of the thumbs. Personally, I wish it went away.
