The last bond I helped a client obtain was over 30 years ago for a major corporation listed on the DOW, clearly without any repayment issues.
If they asked them for proof of a revenue stream or proof of liquid assets here to guarantee the bond, maybe the bonding company said, nope, how about cash.
Bonding company probably does not take unissued shares of stock.
But, just guessing.
