The typical business model of the ambulance-chaser law firms is to continually send out press releases advertising for lead plaintiffs, and then when they have recruited such, to file a sketchier initial complaint in the hopes that the attacked company will pay them some relatively modest sum (a few hundred thousand to a few million) to drop the suit, on the theory that companies will pay up because a settlement is cheaper than paying greenmail, no matter how meritless the case.
The fact that they would go to the trouble of having a filing that is over 200 pages long indicates that mere greenmail is not their goal. Depressing the stock price would seem to be a likely goal -- "allegedly" and "in my opinion" LOL -- especially given that their wonderful sources seem to be whatever Feuerstein has spewed out. I suppose now I'll have to read the whole thing.
Golly, what a thought -- that a lawyer might be just saying something whether there were basis in fact or not, and that they might be alleging something that they know to be untrue or meritless. We've certainly never experienced anything like that on THIS board, have we?
