Great post farrell. We have all read about safety issues with the mutagenic risks regarding the Merck/Ridgeback drug and that Merck is also walking back their initial efficacy claims.
The Pfizer drug uses a repurposed "booster" that is used in HIV treatments to increase the HIV cocktail effectiveness. The article below discusses safety concerns with other medications that the patient may be taking including blood thinners, blood pressure meds etc.
It appears Brilacidin has a strong safety profile that would allow for increased dosing. There will hopefully be data points in either the secondary human trial data and/or from Compassionate Use that will justify the advancement of Brilacidin as a safe and effective CV19 treatment.
