The problem I see with Omicron is the sheer numbers of people that could get infected. It's striking right at the Holidays and that means a lot of older folks are going to get sick and some will have preexisting conditions that will drive them to critical plus I foresee a ton of Long Haulers.

The Pfizer pill might not be the best for this spike because it needs to be taken within 4 days of symptoms and Omicron might have mild symptoms, plus the Pfizer pill may not be readily available and healthcare systems may be totally over run in the next few weeks.

I think we end up with a disaster showing the FDA should have had therapeutics go hand in hand with vaccines all along! Plus, the more people that get sick, the more the chance for another variant to come along. I really hope I'm wrong.
