Our bodies should create new antibodies that will be effective against this strain. And, to your point we will be able to create new vaccines, although I don't think we will get them done in time to avoid what is coming.

Regardless of how well it evades our current protection, the exponential spread will burn through the entire planet in a matter of weeks. The real question (to onesteps point) is whether another variant will be created during that surge in cases.
