Hey doc, it currently seems as if we are on the downturn of the so called "4th wave". Incidence rates (new infections within 7 days from an average group of 100.000 people; this is the way we count it here) have been as high as ~450, and in small regions up to 1500, and we are now down to ~350 overall in the country, and if I am not mistaken there are no local areas above 1000 left, also. Still several 100 new Covid-related deaths are reported daily here, and our ICUs are at their very limit.
Still our government is heavily discussing a mandatory vaccination for the entire population, which might come as soon as March/April of next year, including a booster vaccination in 4 to 6 months distances. In each case, no one will be force vaccinated, but significant fines are in discussion. Austria is a step ahead in this already, where each person will receive an appointment to get there scheduled vaccinations, and each missed appointment will be fined with 600 Euros (almost $700). "Brave new world", and "Big brother is watching you" here we come!
