It is just unusual for the PR to lack mentioning the subjects to be discussed in the conf call. Also, the timing, 1:00 pm ET is unusual and unprecedented (as far as I can remember).
I don’t think they are trying to control the damage to the SP, they better be smart enough to not try that based on history, they should know by now that if they don’t deliver some positive news, this PR will cause more harm than good.
