I'm going to be a party pooper and say that Dr. Lalezari's letter was poorly written and that the recipients most likely will not read it. It utterly failed in its mission and did no good, and perhaps did harm.

We have at least one professional writer here who is more qualified than I am to comment on this, so here is an article that Dr. L and NP ought to read -- because both of them are unfocused and bury the lede under a welter of details that are not important.
