Absolutely correct. We were told that we were receiving "dividend" shares of NuGenerex (of course, the rules changed on when we would get them, and how they would be denominated), but the only shares I have seen of NuGenerex are labeled NUGX in my TDA account, so yes, we were not "forced" to buy NUGX; we simply were told they were something else. And then placed on OTC, just like GNBT.

So no, neither did anyone "force" me to buy, nor did I "choose" to have shares on OTC. They just showed up there, magically.
