This is both to get shareholders to sell, AND it's a business model for these firms. Usually the company pays them off to go away, as it's cheaper for the company to pay the ambulance chasers than it is to hire lawyers and fight it.

Only when every company says "hell no, we're fighting" will this reprehensible "business model" go away.
