Back in 79 I was in Redwood City CA where my brothers were. Went to San Fransisco with one brother who lived in the city. He had a side job paper route delivering the NYTimes. I went with him on his long grueling walking route in the center of the business district and was able to go to the 40th floor of the Transamerica building. I'll never forget the view of the bay looking out a wall of glass, back when it was a nice clean city.
Walked all through Golden Gate Park and Haight Ashbury to look at Grace Slicks home before it burned. Went to the planetarium for a show and scored a ticket to the Moody Blues from someone sitting in the next row. Concert was in the bay area. I think I paid like $6.50 for the ticket. I wasn't to familiar with the Bart system schedule and getting home would have been a real problem so I sold the ticket at the flea market. Sure wish I could have seen them. It was their come back tour.
All my family left California years ago.
