In Sao Paulo there are 3400 hospitalized and 1600 in the ICU. With the lack of accessible healthcare for the poor the number that should be there would be more.

The large drop in mortality could be because of the very good vaccination rates. It could also be because the mayor of Sao Paulo is running for the Presidency and the primaries are coming up very soon.
