All of these mouse models are just that, it's good to keep in mind. Right now, everything in the arsenal has been thrown at those diagnosed and not much has been effective. Not surprising given how little is still truly defined with ALS. Again, blanket term.. odds of there being one molecule / treatment solution for "ALS" writ large are slim to none.
