Obviously this is off topic but I was in a face to face meeting many years ago at my clinic. Present at the meeting besides myself were another doc, my head nurse, our pain management doc, the sales rep manager for our region and a VP who was the Chief Medical Officer at Purdue Pharma. The top doc in the company no less.
After the usual pleasantries, the CMO said without any hesitation, "Oxycontin is safe and non-addictive". They provided us with ample research and literature backing that claim up. I kept the info, my notes from the meeting and eventually provided it to someone investigating Purdue.
Lots of lives affected and destroyed because of that drug. Patients and professionals.
