I emailed Cytodyn about my vote and concerns about the recent confusion and unclarity. William Dooley, Director, M&A and Activism Advisory Group responded with the following message …
If Schwab does not have a control number, or one for each account, to give to you its possible that due to having a margin account you do not have voting rights. Across other brokers other than Schwab this practice is very common.
Based on your previous email you did go online and vote and therefore your shares will be counted. If Schwab were to not give you voting rights because of you margin account, you would not have received that email to vote.
Bill
So I contacted Schwab again and wanted proof as to what happened to my vote and if what Bill is saying is true ???
They responded a few min later with the following ….
Dear Dr. ——-I called Schwab Proxy Services. Under Service Tab, Corporate Action, then Proxy Events, it showed you already voted:
And yes it was all there!! Initially they told me they didn’t have a way to verify it and I should contact the company.
Hope this helps those whom have an account with Schwab.
