pacsurg - After I encountered the "locked" shared, I went back and looked at the two tranches of NuGen shares that were dividends. There were CUSIPs assigned and then changed, Either the first changed and the second did not, or vice versa (I believe the latter). I think there was something about the change in CUSIP that "locked up" the second tranche, that did not lock up the first. Anyway, when the symbol was assigned to all the shares in TDA, apparently this failure to assign a new CUSIP resulted in the first tranche being tradeable. I think something may have just slipped by whoever was in charge of doing this; on the other hand, maybe this was purposeful, so that the first tranche of shares actually could, by design, be traded. That's the best I have been able to come up with so far.
And it was nothing more than dumb luck that I was able to cash out the shares that I did. At least, that ishow it looks at the moment...
