The verbLit thing was a blip in the grand scheme of things. It will be back and done right with some other provider than Microsoft, presumably AWS. And as Rory said maybe some other provider as a backup. I like too how he was unconcerned about verbLit last week as to how it affected Verb, however he has true anger (and who wouldn't?) toward Microsoft! I still would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when he made the phone call to Microsoft right after verbLit. Not that Microsoft really cares at all about Verb, but still it would have been fun to listen in.
That video you found was great, matzaball! Amazing other sports franchises have contacted Verb right after the Penguins contract was announced. Could indeed be a big new vertical.
I don't know how Rory does it working 19 hours a day. He's only a few years older than me, and I could do that when I was younger, but not now. A 12 hour work day wipes me out. You can't say he isn't super dedicated to making the business into a multi-billion dollar business, contrary to how the shorts and some other detractors paint him. He may be over-optimistic at times as to the timeline, but that's all I can really fault him on. He is persistent and dedicated, and doesn't accept failure and just tries again.
He also seems excited about Marketplace and Verb TV. Verb TV sounds like one "channel" on Marketplace, where exclusive entertainment/shopping content produced by Verb (and now obviously David Meltzer) is shown.
Also, he said there would be big name brands, big box stores, as well as boutiques on Marketplace. I think we have maybe gotten a hint of some of the big name brands, but those could bring in big money. I'm excited about seeing that go public and seeing who all is involved. And, as a lot of us suspected, season 3 of Two Minute Drill will be on verbLive and interactive. That's kind of a no-brainer, and a lot of us suspected that was going to happen.
I like that Rory says also there are big surprises coming. That has to be something other than Marketplace/Verb TV, and gmail. Sounds like the paid version of verbMail for Outlook is at most 3 weeks away, maybe less.
