Willy, I was kind of thinking something similar. First Verb product that comes to mind that would be useful for sports teams to use would be VerbLive. But the PR didn't exclusively call out VL. It was much more general (see quote from the PR below). Perhaps that means VerbTV as well. We shall see, but can't even fathom how much merchandise they would sell during a game if links were put directly in front of viewers.
My Red Sox are playing pretty darn well right now and Kike Hernadez is playing out of his head. I wonder how many shirts they would have sold if there was a link to buy his shirt at a discount in the stream? Or an ALDS hat or shirt when they won the series. Or links to stats you can view during the game. Or links to food delivery while you are watching. Or.........
Best thing about it, now that the sports world has been cracked, is there are so many teams out there in all the different sports and universities, and high schools. And there is SOOOOOO much money in sports and merchandising.
