I think you've articulated a truth most of should absorb. Too many of us are ready to argue our positions, rather than absorb all that is given freely here by the docs, lawyers, statisticians and diligent students of science.

Though not directed at me, yours is a good reminder that all of us can learn by considering, rather than countering, what others offer.
