Is it waning immunity, or viral escape?

Doesn't matter, really.. everyone needs to continue taking precautions, for their own benefit. Collectively, the world (with very few exceptions) has failed.. there's no eliminating this outbreak, maybe hasn't been any chance of that for months now. And this winter in the Northern Hemisphere is going to be a litmus test to just how deadly C19 can get.
The only hope is that vaccines and spike MABs targeting newer, more virulent strains are already in production. Those won't be offered until the last of the no longer effective vaxes and spike MABs are offloaded, I'd wager.
