Point is, they're infected, infectious, symptomatic, spreading, and some are requiring hospitalization.. you have recommendations to de-mask floating around and a significant part of the population walking around, disinhibited, thinking everything's swell because they got a vaccine based off of wild type Wuhan months ago.. that is a prerequisite for real, truly dangerous escape variants to arise.
