Generally speaking, people are either goal oriented or are task oriented. People tend to view the world through this set of lenses. I am a goal oriented person and being positive is innate in my being. I can nearly always see the positive outcome in my mind and work backwards to the point I am at to see the road that will lead me there. My wife on the other hand is a task oriented person and for her being hopeful comes naturally as she performs best, one task at a time. Completing these tasks reinforces her remaining hopeful of getting to the ends she is desiring.
