I would think a bank would have a vested interest and not necessarily your best interests.
I did a lot of searching and found 3 highly rated advisors in my area. I'll probably talk to all of them and let them know I am interviewing THEM. If they don't take me seriously, it's their loss. I won't tell them how much I have but that I easily meet their minimums in both cash and 401k.
Point is I am looking for someone that is interested in my well-being and is paid reasonably based on performance.
