First round of Covid was bad. I won’t ever forget it. It was a week before I left before my deployment when Iran was sending ballistic missiles over to Taji Air base. I remember watching it on TV and I was like what the fuck did I get myself into this time. I’ve been on several deployments but it wasn’t fun watching theater ballistic missiles hit a base I knew I’d be visiting on this trip over the sand box. Anyways...
That night I woke up with some of the worst chills I’ve ever had. I remember getting in and out of bed about 7 times to take a warm shower. It was pretty bad. Then the cough started that morning. On the way over a few people were coughing and one person was bad. We thought it was funny like what’s wrong with this dude. Yea not so funny everyone had Covid. This is before we knew what it was mind you. But looking back it definitely was.
Literally fast forward about 3 weeks later I still had the coughing. It eventually went away but a lot of people had it and nobody has a clue what it was.
The second time was not that bad, however I lost my sense of smell which was freaky. I also had a cough that lasted for more then 2 weeks. Everyone in my police unit had it. 3 dudes had it pretty bad but nothing crazy thank god. This was about 6 months ago ? I think I posted about it.
For the vaccine I got Pfizer onto my first shot like last week. I get my second one in October. I felt tired and a headache for the first shot. A few buddies got Covid arm the call it but I guess that’s minor.
I probably had delta variant like last month but who knows I’m always in contact with people.
