Chicago is not Minnesota or Iowa or the Dakotas. The claim was that there is not a problem in those states. The claim was that hospitals in Minnesota are not 95% full.
That is not true. The CBS News report shows that many hospitals are at or beyond capacity. This is the case in many parts of the Upper Midwest, unlike the claim that was made.
I am sick and tired of people trying to minimize the suffering that is being caused by the unvaccinated, who are spreading this disease to the vulnerable immune-compromised or elderly vaccinated people because the Delta variant is so contagious. I am sick and tired of people acting like "it's no big deal" when my friend may die because he can't get the surgery that he needs right now, because of the unvaccinated who are taking up the hospital bed he needs. I am tired of seeing children getting sick and ending up in the hospital. I'm tired of seeing medical personnel I know at the ragged edge of exhaustion and depression because they are so overworked, and people act like "it's no big deal."
So yeah. I'm feeling pretty angry, and if you want to characterize my rage at people who say things that are ABSOLUTELY incorrect about the hospital capacities in certain states as being "nasty," go right ahead.
I think it's a lot nastier to tell untruths about the severity of this problem.
When people behave carelessly because they believe those nasty untruth's like "hospitals aren't near capacity" in areas where they ARE near capacity -- it's costing lives.
