I think you have some of this backwards.
If management has to "walk back some of their earlier claims" then it means that what they claimed was actually not true in connection with the situation in question. It doesn't matter when the data comes out, it just was an inaccurate claim. Maybe management should not make claims until management has the data that can back them up.
For example, I think we've learned at this point that anecdotal evidence is not always in line with the finished data if the anecdotal evidence is at 4 doses over 28 weeks and the clinical data is at 2 doses for the same time period.
