Trehalose has been compared to rapamycin which is a MTOR inhibitor that can increase autophagy of virally infected cells. Rapamycin would have a similar effect to disruption of the PI3K-AKT-mTORC1 by leronlimab that I proposed as potentially reducing viral reproduction.

My proposal did not envisage a total eradication of the virus just a lessening which may be the case with trehalose. That trehalose operates independent of mTOR it may have a lesser effect.
