Well, I don’t know about that funding phrase. But my impression from the overall response was that they were forcefully rejecting the notion that the Brazil trial would be abandoned without good reason, which is just common sense. Despite my deep suspicions of 13d, I’m not going to pretend that they have resolved to do something inexplicable, and which they vigorously rejected, on the basis of a close reading of an ambiguous phrase.
