Hindsight being what it is, I partially agree. A couple of quality hires early 2020 might have expedited things. I believe that Mahboob was an attempt at doing that. I always sus people with experience & great knowledge looking for work.
Also, who's to say that a more experienced person would have gone forward with all indications?
I will also partially agree with Sean.
Experience is a great teacher, period. And the inexperienced tend to enjoy the experience more.
As for the learning curve, I believe there is room for both, but if you can find someone experienced, open-minded, eager, ambitious & loyal, please hire them.. ( sounds like Recknor)

p.s.- A lot of experienced people did not buy pro 140 all those years ago.
