The highest alkaline phosphate levels occur with one part of the liver being obstructed with other sections open. So the stent can be working with the tumor obstructing a portion of the liver with most of the liver still draining. You would have to look at the other liver numbers, the scans, etc. to know exactly what’s going on. If the stent were completely plugged the bilirubin would go through the roof.
