IMHO, they don't actually believe that. IMHO, what they believe is that all of us retail investors give a huge crap about Patterson's Long Hauler trial.
But, actually we don't currently give any crap whatsoever about him or his LH trial. The first half of last year we would have, but not any longer. IMHO, the 13D is still living in early/mid 2020 right now.
