So I just called TD to ask about the registered owner of shares in my account. I have 4 accounts, 3 cash and 1 401k.
They stated that the only way I would not be the registered owner is if any of the accounts were set to allow margin trades. 1 of my accounts allows margin trades but since I have no share that were purchased on margin ( I have not bought anything on margin for at least 5 years) that the shares in that account would also show me as the registered owner and they would be available for me to vote.
She also said that they wouldn't be sending out information on the voting until 1 Sep and then only after they got confirmation from CYDY. When I pressed her on why I had received the emails this morning she said that it was strange. So I had her confirm that the emails came from TDA. She said that their emails were handled by Broadridge Financial which we verified was at the bottom of the emails. From there I couldn't get anything else useful from her.
So for what it is worth this is my input on this discussion.
