Assuming Chad and others at HTI work everyday then they could say "Hi, we are here, everything is ok", everyday or once a week or once a month.  The reality is, short of having a blog or being on twitter, etc. a small start-up with a small staff is IMV not expected to provide day to day operations.  If some guy from Tyson calls Chad and says we want the screw hole on the flux capacitor to be in a different place, this could set things back weeks, a month and Chad would likely just keep quiet and get it done.
