Isn't this a bit of a "won't happen to me" attitude? A school friend of my daughter's is 8 years-old and pretty sick from Covid right now. Some friends visited them in NY from out of state and their child picked it up while traveling and gave it to the 8 year-old.

We can't avoid kids traveling in cars and the risk that entails, but we can protect children from Covid by getting everyone vaccinated, wearing masks, and taking other such precautions.

We also don't need clinical blinded studies of masks to know they help. I don't need a clinical study to tell me I should sneeze into my elbow when I have a cold. It's common sense. You talk about people influenced by what they see on TV or read in the media -- you shouldn't need anyone to tell you covering your mouth, while not overly effective, does mitigate droplet transmission.

I can't believe we're still debating masks efficacy in July 2021.
