Another view point rescued from the swamp

Minnie's comments refer to your highlighting in the article you posted...the substance of your commentary..."Does brilacidin cause phospholipidosis?
YOUR POSTS CLEARLY ADDRESSES, STATES and IS CENTERED UPON THAT "NON-ISSUE" but raising it as a serious issue:
Quote:"This is a very interesting article, that tells us at least one possible reason why some drugs that work very well in vitro then fail in vivo:
https://www.sciencenews.org/article/coronavir...ment-drugs
"That finding could help researchers avoid dead-ends. If a drug stops the coronavirus from growing in cells in the lab, researchers should test for phospholipidosis. If the drug causes that side effect, it should be discarded as a COVID-19 therapy."
Does brilacidin cause phospholipidosis?"
(BUT...THEN WE GO ON TO PLAY "LET'S ASSUME"...!)
Quote:"If (and I emphasize that I am not claiming this is definitively the case) Brilacidin's antiviral in vitro activity is related to phospholipidosis, then the clinical study is likely to fail."
Yes, the post is not "claiming this is definitively (so) "...but one would have to conclude that the post is "strongly suggesting"...AND IS stating Non-Definitively..."Brilacidin may be causing phospholipidosis"
BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE PROBLEM, AS POINTED OUT IN PJ's POST below points out...DURING THE JUST-COMPLETED BRILACIDIN/COVID-19 CLINICAL TRIAL:
...A "Safety Review" by the Independent Monitoring Committee was conducted on the first 25% of the participants who received 3 days of Brilacidin Dosing...THERE WAS NO DETECTION OF "phospholipidosis!
...Some poster is saying..."prove the negative"...Well, there was no evidence of phospholipidosis...IF THERE WAS EVIDENCE, the Clinical Trial would have been stopped right there!
CATEGORICALLY CORRECT!!!...a RED HERRING was thrown out at unsuspecting investors who might not "KNOW WHAT THEY OWN!"
There is and was no basis for questioning ... since a thorough Safety Review was already done on by an INDEPENDENT (SAFETY) MONITORING COMMITTEE...AND THE CLINICAL TRIAL WAS NOT STOPPED AND NO SAFETY ISSUES, INCLUDING phospholipidosis!

The Safety Review by the Independent Monitoring Committee...after the 3-day dosage regimen for 30 days... the Safety Review by this independent monitoring committee...did not recommend ending the trial for “futility.” as the other trials in the article noted...safety review...IMO they would have picked up on "a potentially serious side effect called phospholipidosis."
......Some poster is saying...prove the negative...Well, there was no evidence of phospholipidosis...otherwise, the Clinical Trial would have been stopped right there!

Please please read the article and my original post.
I'm not saying that brilacidin causes phospholipidosis in humans.
It's to do with the in vitro MoA against coronaviruses.
...there is only one problem in the above assertion... CONTENT OF FIRST POST IS ALL ABOUT BRILACIDIN/PHOSPHOLIPIDOSIS...the post essentially has nothing to do with "in vitro MoA against coronaviruses"...
Asserting:
"I'm not saying that brilacidin causes phospholipidosis in humans."
no...but the post did imply:
...there is "non-definitive evidence" ... when all along... if there was evidence of PHOSPHOLIPIDOSIS... is caused by Brilacidin...
IT IS IN DIRECT CONTRADICTION ... to the fact that ...
THERE WAS NO DETECTION or EVIDENCE OF "phospholipidosis by the"Safety Review" by the Independent Monitoring Committee after conducting the SAFETY REVIEW OF BRILACIND on the first 25% of the participants who received 3 days of Brilacidin Dosing!
Who to believe? ...an Independent Monitoring Committee reviewing SAFETY, or a Poster
NOT DIFFICULT... "KNOW WHAT YOUR OWN"!
