Also the Boston Herald reported on Jul 13 and 19 that in Massachusetts there have been over 3900 breakthrough cases officially reported, with 71 deaths and 268 hospitalizations in that group of fully vaccinated people.

The vaccines are not as effective as advertised. Fully vaccinated people are getting hospitalized and dying, even though not many people are dying now of just Covid alone. Two reasons for this - 1) while Delta variant is very contagious, it is not as lethal as last year's Covid, and 2) doctors are learning how to treat Covid patients better. Ventilators are now only a last resort, and are not used very often.
